Ransford History
Trusted...through five generations.

We trace our heritage back to Lee and Florence Huston, who moved from their home in Millington in 1926 to establish the Lee Huston Funeral Home on Main Street Caro, where Village Hall now stands. To accommodate an expanding business and the need for increased space, the Huston family moved the funeral home in 1948 to our present location at 205 West Sherman Street. In 1972, Richard Ransford purchased the funeral home and changed the name to Huston & Ransford Funeral Directors to reflect both families’ heritages. The funeral home name was eventually changed to the Ransford Funeral Home in 1995.

Mark Ransford, son of Richard and Sue Ransford, joined the family business in 2003 and marks the 5th generation of the family to return to Caro. The combination of our traditional values with today’s innovative ideas allows us to help the families within our community plan a ceremony that welcomes fresh ideas and personalization, coordinated with unsurpassable service.
